Mission
The Art of Living Foundation promotes global harmony and uplifts society by strengthening one individual at a time. Its programs teach a blend of ancient eastern breathing techniques and wisdom that help eliminate stress, restore the highest human values and encourage people from all backgrounds, religions and cultural traditions to come together in celebration and service to humanity.

Self-Development Programs
The power of AOLF’s programs is based on the inner transformation of the individual.  The core of each program is the dissemination of eastern wisdom and the teaching of a life-changing ancient breathing technique called Sudarshan Kriya. Its profound effect eliminates deep layers of accumulated stress, dissolves anger and creates a sense of belonging while providing a variety of health benefits confirmed by independent studies, such as:

Each AOLF Program is tailored to support the needs of different age or social group. They include:

Disaster and trauma relief
AOLF in association with its sister organization – International Association for Human Values (IAHV) is committed to reaching out globally to any place where there is trauma and suffering.  Recent disaster management and trauma relief initiatives include:

Israel – IAHV and Art of Living Foundation is providing trauma relief programs in Sdeort, Israel. The program was first conducted at a high school and many students reported, they felt calm and stress-free after going through the trauma relief program.
Iraq – AOLF operates two facilities in Baghdad. To date, 2,300 (verify) Iraqis have participated in the program, 20 of whom have become Art of Living teachers.
Afghanistan – AOLF trauma relief camps have aided more than 1,000 people, including the staff of the United Nation’s Development Fund for Women, Ministry of Public Health and the Mental Health Department.
United States – AOLF provided material aid and trauma relief to more than 2,000 people after Hurricane Katrina and its Youth Training programs continue to make a difference n New Orleans.  In New York City, AOLF offered free trauma relief programs to thousands after 9/11.
Kosovo – Trauma relief programs were held for war victims, medical workers, and more than 600 members of the United Nations peacekeeping staff.
Kashmir – Since 2003, AOLF has held trauma relief and youth leadership training programs for more than 3,500 people, including hundreds of youth at risk for extremist recruitment.

AOLF and IAHV have been active in India in the area of community services such as well digging, sanitation training, villager handiworks, and elementary schools reaching 34.400 villages.
